Daniel 2 - Feet of Ten Toes of iron and clay

Daniel 2:42-44
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

  The nations in West and East Europe that have come out of the fall of Western and Eastern divisions (legs) of the Old Roman Empire land area.  They will be a part of Antichrist's Empire when Christ returns and defeats Antichrist and establishes His Kingdom which will last forever.

One of the most characteristic European institutions is the nation-state which developed over a period of centuries from the late Middle Ages to the era of the Frencd Revelution, based initionally on loyalty to a.particular Monarch or Dynasty, and later on the union of a people with a common language and traditions.England, France, Spain had achieved nationhood by the 15th century, the Netherlands, Sweden, Prussia,and others followed in the 16th and 17th centuries. Out of this process came the doctrine of nationalism--the belief that every national group is intitled to independence and self determination,--which became the most powerful idealogical forces of the 19th and 20th centuries.   There was a time period following the fall of the Eastern and Western divisions of the Roman Empire that no one strong government (iron) rule over all people because of the human element (clay). The human element (clay) was the unique language and cultural differences that separate the masses of humanity from been ruled over by one central government. Out of the fall of the Western Division and Eastern Division of the Roman Empire nation states were beginning to develop.    The ten toes of iron and clay is the final form of the Roman Empire land area. The nation's states that were developed in the feet stage are now the nations of Eastern and Western Europe that would exist in the generation that sees Christ return. This is confirmed in verse 44 where Daniel says that in the days of these kings (the 10 toes-nations) God would set up a kingdom that would last forever.   When one considers Europe today how true are the words found in verse 43 that these nations shall mingle themselves with the seed of men but not cleave to one another even as iron is not mixed with clay. In other words Europeans travel, live, trade within their differ nations but just like iron is not mixed with clay the French will always a French government, German, a German government, and so on.
